LACBA offers a 2d District Walkthrough

The LA County Bar Appellate Courts Section has revived its "walkthrough" MCLE program, hwich take place on February 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. (yes, that's three hours of appellate specialization MCLE) at 300 S. Spring Street, of course. Details below and here.

The Appellate Courts Section is pleased to offer once again the Appellate Courts Walk-Through, an afternoon at the courthouse designed to introduce practitioners to the appellate courts and appellate process.  This program will provide valuable insights for all attorneys, from new practitioners interested in learning more about appeals to seasoned attorneys interested in hearing about best practices from court insiders.
The program begins with a specially-calendared oral argument, with the chance (time permitting) for questions and answers afterward with the Justices and attorneys on the case.
Then join us to hear from appellate court Justices, staff, and top appellate practitioners about how our appellate courts function and strategies for presenting your case effectively to the California Court of Appeal in a series of panel discussions—
Panel 1 - Briefing skills and strategies.
Panel 2 - Your choice of either a discussion of the procedural in’s and out’s of litigating an appeal,
or
How an appeal or an alternative writ is adjudicated once it is sent to the Justices’ chambers.

Panel 3 - An introduction to writs and the writs process, including tips on getting a writ granted.
