Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced the appointment of Tricia A. Bigelow as presiding justice of the Second District Court of Appeal, Division Eight.
Bigelow, 49, of Pasadena, has served as an associate justice for the Second District Court of Appeal since 2008. Prior to that, she was a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court from 1998 to 2008 and for the Los Angeles County Municipal Court from 1995 to 1998. Bigelow was a supervising deputy attorney general for the California Attorney General’s Office from 1989 to 1995 and deputy attorney general from 1986 to 1989. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton. Bigelow fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Presiding Justice Candace Cooper. Bigelow is a Republican.
