RIP Justice Arguelles (1927-2022)

 At the Lectern reports that Former Supreme Court Justice Arguelles died last week. He served on the Supreme Court from 1987 to 1989.

Today's DJ has David Axelrad's Appellate review of the failure to exercise discretion, which emphasizes the points that "an abuse of discretion can be shown where the trial court fails to exercise its discretion" and “[a]n order that implicitly or explicitly rests on an erroneous reading of the law necessarily is an abuse of discretion.”
