The next KFF movie night at the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena will be February 7 at 7 p.m., screening The Beatles: Eight Days a Week.
Eight Days a Week follows
the Beatles through their legendary touring years, starting with performances
in their hometown of Liverpool and ending with the band's final concert at San
Francisco's Candlestick Park. Director Ron Howard (of Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind and many others) weaves contemporary interviews and rare footage into a
spellbinding portrait of what are no doubt the band's defining years.
We'll be joined by the
Grammy Award-winning producer Nigel Sinclair, whose Hollywood production credits include The Ides of March and Rush. His previous music documentaries include the award-winning George Harrison: Living in the Material World (directed by Martin Scorsese) and Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who.
Prior to KFF, we'll offer a
tour of our historic Richard H. Chambers Courthouse. If you'd like to
participate in the tour, please meet in the first floor lobby just inside the
main entrance at 5:45. The tour will start promptly at 6:00 so you can
finish in plenty of time to get food, drink and a good seat.
Everyone in the Pasadena
area is invited; spouses and guests are also welcome. Come see the movie,
say hi to old friends and make new ones. We'll have pizza, Donna's famous
hand-crafted salad, beer, wine and snacks for those who are interested.
Feel free to come only for the movie, or for the food too.
