Law360 has 20 Former Federal Judges Launch Group To Defend Judiciary:
Twenty former federal district and circuit judges on Thursday launched a coalition to speak out about and defend the federal judiciary as political impeachment attempts against judges increase and the federal courts system faces heightened scrutiny. The Article III Coalition — which was formed under the umbrella of the civic education nonprofit Keep Our Republic and includes nominees of every president from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama — called on other former jurists to sign on in an open letter timed to coincide with the rule of law celebration Law Day.
Former federal judges from SoCal are well-represented: Paul Watford (9th Cir.), Andy Guilford and George King (CD Cal) (and Jeremy Fogel [ND Cal]) are part of the Coalition pledging to "uphold the independence of the judicial branch."
