  • Another Ninth Circuit nominee, Gabriel Sanchez, was advanced by the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this month and is awaiting a vote on the Senate floor. The committee deadlocked on a fourth pick, Holly Thomas, meaning Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will have to call a vote to bring her nomination before the full Senate.

  • The U.S. Senate confirmed Lucy H. Koh to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals by a 50-45 vote on Monday evening.
  • Koh, a former federal prosecutor with the Central District of California, later worked as an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC and as a litigation partner with McDermott Will & Emery before Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed her to the Santa Clara County Superior Court in 2008.
