Come meet Justice Cheri Beasley, who is a trailblazer as one of a handful of women of color to sit on a state supreme court and one of a few who previously served as an assistant public defender.  The program will cover Justice Beasley's background, her path to the North Carolina Supreme Court, and her expertise on juvenile justice.  Attendees will be asked to contribute a nominal amount of $15, which would go towards the ABA Justice Fund (a 501(c)(3) non-profit).  The donations will support the work of the ABA's Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defendants (SCLAID), which explores ways to better improve the administration of justice as it affects low income populations.
