PJ Gilbert to receive Outstanding Jurist Award June 23

"Court of Appeal’s Poet Laureate" Justice Arthur Gilbert Named  LACBA’s 2016 Outstanding Jurist LACBA is pleased to announce Hon. Arthur Gilbert, presiding justice of the Second District, Division Six of the California Court of Appeal, as the recipient of its 2016 Outstanding Jurist Award in recognition of his life-long contributions to the practice of law and the community at large. A judge for more than 40 years, Justice Gilbert has sought to make the law accessible to every citizen with the guiding principle that judges have an obligation to explain their decisions in layman’s term so that their rulings could be understood by all. The Outstanding Jurist Award will be presented to Justice Gilbert at LACBA’s Installation and Awards Dinner on Thursday, June 23, 2016.
