LACBA ACS Roundtables program May 31

The next LACBA Appellate Courts Section program, the Night of the Roundtables, will be held on May 31 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Employee Lounge of the Second District Court of Appeal.

This year we are grateful to Court of Appeal staff attorney (and Section member) Rashida Adams for organizing the program.  We also greatly appreciate the contributions of several of Rashida’s staff attorney colleagues, who have volunteered to lead the roundtable discussions.

 The (tentative) list of roundtable topics is as follows:
 1.     The Final Judgment Rule and related issues (a kind of post-Kurwa v. Kislinger discussion)
2.     Ask a Writ Attorney
3.     Petitions for Rehearing—what works, what doesn’t
4.     Hot Bench/Cold Bench—oral argument in the Second District
5.     Appellate Sanctions
 Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in two roundtable discussions, since we plan to allow rotation to new tables halfway through the program.
The price for this CLE program will be $15 for Appellate Courts Section members and $30 for all others.
