Who's writing opinions and how; and properly naming courts

California Appellate Report has a very interesting post here about a recent 9th Circuit opinion. The comments are not about the opinion itself, but about the writing style. And also how:
the opinion repeatedly refer to decisions of "the California District Court of Appeals"

It's "Court of Appeal," not appeals.
Saying it wrong hurts my ears.
