Sotomayor cites amigos; LACBA ACS mixer; I Still Have a Dream

ABA Journal has an interesting article "It was another big term for amicus curiae briefs at the high court," nothing that Hollingsworth v. Perry led the pack with 96 amicus briefs, and that Justice Sotomayor cited amicus briefs in 69% of her opinions.

Tonight is the LA County Bar Association's Appellate Courts Section End-of-Summer Mixer at the Rooftop Bar at the Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel. The appellate lawyers' party taunt: "Be there and be square."

And don't miss Yakub Hazzard's reprinted article in today's DJ: I Still Have a Dream
Yakub Hazzard
"I have a dream that law school graduates will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged or stereotyped by the color of their skin but by their analytical abilities and the content of their legal briefs."
