"Eastman, a former clerk to Justice Clarence Thomas and graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, was once considered among the country’s foremost conservative constitutional law scholars and served as dean of Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law in Orange County, California, from 2007 to 2010. Since 1999, he has served as the founding director of the Claremont Institute’s Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence."
