RIP Ephraim Margolin (1927-2024)

The appellate world has lost another legend: Ephraim Margolin, a past president of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, passed away on March 10 at age 97. His life was remarkable: He clerked for the Supreme Court of Israel and in the Jerusalem District Courts, and became a member of the Israeli Bar. Moved to San Francisco in 1957 where he taught law and went into private practice, handling criminal defense and constitutional cases. One-third of his cases were always handled pro bono.
