Devich, who died May 12 in Mission Viejo at 96, had one big regret. "One thing I wish I could have done is devote more time with my family," Devich said in a California Legacy Project interview 10 years ago with fellow justice Robert M. Mallano.
Three governors appointed Devich to judicial assignments: Ronald Reagan to the Los Angeles Municipal Court, where he spent six years; Jerry Brown to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, where he spent about eight years; and Deukmejian to the appellate bench in 1986.
Devich was a justice in 2/1 from Jan. 1986 to June 1992.
