The 3d District reported yesterday: Courtroom Closure Extended -- The courtroom at the Stanley Mosk Library and Courts Building in Sacramento will remain closed for construction to complete technical upgrades until further notice. An update will be provided once the date of reopening has been confirmed.

Note the reflective glare! |
Meanwhile, down South in the 2d District, courtroom renovation has been delayed by supply chain issues. The new lighting fixtures are expected mid-July for an August installation. In addition to new lights (finally!) and cameras, the wall behind the bench will be unglazed to prevent glare while recording. The expected re-opening will be in September. Each division will have its own policy about remote or hybrid hearings, but all arguments should be recorded and made freely available on an online archive page.
