OCSC J.Delaney nominated to 4/3


Governor Gavin Newsom today announced his nomination of Judge Thomas Delaney to serve as an Associate Justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Three.


Judge Thomas Delaney, 55, of Santa Ana, has been nominated to serve as an Associate Justice of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Three. He has served as a Judge at the Orange County Superior Court since 2014. Judge Delaney was a Partner at Sedgwick LLP from 2002 to 2014. He was an Associate at Sedgwick Detert Moran and Arnold LLP from 1995 to 2001 and at Bodkin McCarthy Sargent and Smith from 1992 to 1995. Judge Delaney earned a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice David Thompson. This position requires confirmation by the Commission on Judicial Appointments, which consists of Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, Attorney General Rob Bonta and Senior Presiding Justice Manuel Ramirez. Judge Delaney is a Democrat. The compensation for this position is $262,198.
