DJ profiles Judge Forrest

Today's DJ has Circuit Judge Danielle J. Forrest looks for the right path in the law -- Circuit judge loved practicing but prefers objective role.

  • Forrest, who declined an interview and whose last name was formerly Hunsaker, was born in Oregon in 1977. According to remarks at her Senate confirmation hearing, her father worked in the timber and construction industries in the Pacific Northwest, and her mother stayed at home, serving as Forrest's primary educator for many years.
  • Forrest earned an associate degree from Ricks College, which later became Brigham Young University-Idaho, before studying anthropology at the University of Idaho and graduating from the College of Law in 2004. Except for a brief stint at a Portland law firm, Stoel Rives, she spent the next three years clerking: first for 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Paul J.
