Next week the Division 8 will host high school classes for an ACE (Appellate Court Experience) program, run by the Constitutional Rights Foundation and using volunteer lawyers from LACBA's Appellate Courts Section: The next upcoming program is scheduled Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. held virtually via BlueJeans.  Students from Theodore Roosevelt High School and Susan Miller Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, CA will participate and hear oral argument with Division Eight presiding.

The Supreme Court has reappointed 4/1's Justice Dato to the Commission on Judicial Performance (for a four-year term to February 2025). (Oddly, the Court's webpage has a typo, stating that this is an appointment to the Commission on Judicial "Appointments"--rather than "Performance." Oops! Too many "Commissions on Judicial X" to keep track of?) [2/26 update: this has now been fixed]
