The Los Angeles County Bar
Association is saddened to learn of the passing of Past-President and Los
Angeles legal legend David Pasternak.
David, a LACBA member for 43
years, was a graduate of Loyola University Law School and practiced most
recently in Century City at the law firm of Pasternak, Pasternak &
Alsbrook. He served as LACBA president in 1997-98 and also served as President
of the State Bar of California from 2015-16. Recognition of David’s influence
and impact on the practice of law was celebrated in 2018 as he accepted LACBA’s
highest honor, the Shattuck-Price Outstanding Lawyer award.
The LACBA family and the entire
legal community across California has lost a leader, an advocate and a
friend. Our condolences go out to his wife Cindy, his children, and
everyone who was fortunate enough to have known this kind, decent, and
respected man. We are all better because of David.
