LACBA's Appellate Courts Section presents The Argument Clinic on February 28 (4:30 to 6 p.m. in the 2d DCA's Courtroom) for 1.5 hours of mcle. The program will be:
A re-enacted argument of a 2017 case, Kanno v. Marwit Capital Partners II., L.P, 18 Cal.App.5th 987 presented before a specially-convened panel of Justices of the Court of Appeal. The Kanno briefs will be emailed in advance of the program. The re-enacted argument will be presented before a specially-convened panel of Justices of the Court of Appeal.
Learn from the panel what Justices want to hear in oral
arguments. From the attorneys, learn techniques for preparing and presenting a
persuasive oral argument and, in particular, responding effectively to
questions and comments from the bench. Q & A will follow.
