Barry Levy retires

H&L has news about name-partner Barry Levy:
After nearly 50 years of appellate practice, name partner Barry Levy has retired from the firm.
Barry joined the firm in 1977, became a name partner in 1983, and was managing partner and chair of the management committee for 35 years. He had a significant role in shaping the firm's culture and growing it from its humble beginnings as a small Los Angeles appellate boutique into the largest law firm in the country specializing in civil appellate complex litigation. Barry helped create a unique workplace focused on providing the highest level of appellate advocacy in a collaborative and collegial environment, values that remain fundamental to the firm's identity. Throughout his illustrious career, Barry won multiple awards, including a CLAY award (California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year) for his work in Border Business Park, Inc. v. City of San Diego (2006) and recognition as a National Law Journal Elite Boutique Trailblazer. His skill, kindness, and leadership remain an enduring part of the cultural framework of Horvitz & Levy.
