CRF needs you + amicus article

  • The Constitutional Rights Foundation’s (CRF) 2022 Mock Trial State competition will be starting in March and is in need of volunteers. This year, we will still be implementing a virtual format to keep all our students, volunteers, staff, and participants as safe as possible due to COVID-19, the recent surge of variants, and the rising number of cases. We are expecting over 800 high school students from 34 counties to present their case (People v. Cobey) in this year’s online format. The legal community is vital to the success of the program. We at CRF thank you for your past involvement in our mock trial program and invite you to join us again to share your passion by volunteering your knowledge and time to the next generation. All trials will be conducted via Zoom. To volunteer for any of the following rounds, please click the volunteer link at https://www.crf-usa.org/mock-trial-program/mock-trial-volunteers.htmlFor more information, contact Sean-Michael Ramirez at sean-michael@crf-usa.org.
  • Yesterday's DJ's Appellate Zealots column by Susan Yorke was The Amicus Angle, with advice for amicus briefs: Be a good friend; offer something unique; keep it short and sweet; be careful with humor; consider unexpected sources; don't overstep; and mind the rules.
And USC wins Omicron case here.
