In-person SCOTUS arguments

Law.com reports SCOTUS Will Hold In-Person Arguments This Fall With Limited Public Access

The U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday announced that the justices will return to the courtroom for oral arguments in its October, November and December sessions, but access will be limited only to the justices, essential courtroom personnel, lawyers who are scheduled to argue and journalists with full-time, Supreme Court-issued press credentials.
Although the court building remains closed to the public, the justices said they expect to provide a live audio feed of the oral arguments beginning Oct. 4, the first day of the 2021 term.

The high court shut down the building in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 virus. In May 2020, the justices began livestreaming two weeks of oral arguments for the first time in the court’s history and continued to livestream the arguments through the 2020 term, which ended in July.
