The online Appellate Summit will be held over two consecutive Fridays, with a morning session on October 9 and an afternoon session on October 16. Join us for updates and insights on appellate practice from appellate experts and jurists, as well as a tribute session with California Supreme Court Justice Ming Chin, in conversation with Retired Justice Marvin Baxter, and the induction of Dennis Riordan into the Appellate Lawyer Hall of Fame with remarks from Justice Anthony Kline.
The sessions will include a discussion of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s legacy and the future of the U.S. Supreme Court with Dean Chemerinsky and Strict Scrutiny co-host Jaime Santos, an inside look at the California Solicitor General’s Office, important updates on Ninth Circuit Rules and Bluebooking, insights into the California Supreme Court’s decision in Conservatorship of O.B., and a master class on appellate ethics with Jon Eisenberg, the Honorable Ignazio Ruvolo, and Laurie Hepler. Participants will earn 4.5 hours of MCLE, with one hour of ethics, all of which qualify for the appellate legal specialization.
