Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court Tani Cantil-Sakauye is the recipient of the 2019 Sandra Day O’Connor Award for the Advancement of Civics Education, presented annually by the National Center for State Courts. Chief Justice Cantil-Sakauye will be presented the award in October during the annual meeting of the California Judges Association and California Lawyers Association in Monterey, California.
