On Feb. 17, eight 9th Circuit judges will gather at the court’s Pasadena building to discuss how the Omnibus Judgeship Act of 1978 transformed the court into what it is today. When the bill was drafted, the court was facing a staggering caseload and lacked enough judicial officers to tackle it.

Grand Ave., Pasadena.Six hours of California minimum continuing legal education credit and six hours of credit for California Legal Specialization in Appellate Law will be available to lawyers who attend. There is no fee for the conference, but the organizers have requested that those planning to attend RSVP by Feb. 9 to hellman@frontier.net and indicate whether you will be attending for MCLE credit.
