Former Justice pages

The 5th DCA has just added former justices to its "Justices" webpage here and "will be publishing a complete list of former justices in the upcoming year." How do the other Courts of Appeal present such information?

  • The 1st DCA has a chronological list of justices with links to just a few of the former justices here.
  • The 2d DCA has a nice stand-alone page with photos and bios for all former justices here.
  • The 3d DCA's page has links to bios of all former justices here.
  • Divisions 1 and 3 of the 4th DCA have pages for "A historical retrospective of former Division [] justices" here and here.
  • The 6th DCA has a listing of former justices here.
  • And the Supreme Court, of course, has its own booklet containing a detailed history.
Speaking of Justices, today's DJ offers With Werdegar retired, a short-handed state high court hears cases, which calls Justices Humes "a leading name mentioned for the job" of the open seat. The article goes on to note that "attention has also focused on" Justice Baker. "A third name that has come up is another African-American Yale Law School graduate, 2nd District Court of Appeal Justice Jeffrey W. Johnson."
