9th Cir.'s "liberal notoriety" becoming "outdated"?

Today's Recorder features Ben Feuer's Five Decisions That Show Obama's Ninth Circuit Appointees Are More Centrist. The article begins:
If the nonlawyer on the street knows anything about the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, it's that it's very liberal and very activist. But after eight years of appointments by President Barack Obama, coming after eight years of appointments by President George W. Bush, it is no longer clear that reputation holds true. Indeed, the relative centrism of Obama's appointees has brought the Ninth Circuit, overall, closer to the middle than it has been in decades.

Also of note, the NLJ offers Kagan Leads Sotomayor on Laughs, But Lags in Dissents, which has more nice graphics, including a liberalometer.
