Every year the LA County Bar Appellate Courts Section hosts a lunch honoring the justices of the Supreme Court, 2d District Court of Appeal, and judges of the LASC Appellate Division. This year the lunch is April 6 at the Omni Hotel downtown. The keynote speaker is Ralph Frammolino, co-author of Chasing Aphrodite: The Hunt for Looted Antiquities at the World's Richest Museums. Also, the Pamela E. Dunn Appellate Justice Award will be presented to Jon Eisenberg. This is a not-to-be-missed event in the SoCal appellate universe. The event is complimentary for the honoree (appellate justices and LASC app div judges). Members of the LACBA Appellate Courts Section, LACBA Amicus Briefs Committee and LACBA State Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee may attend for $105 (the same number of California Court of Appeal justices). If you don't fall into any of those groups, then it's time for you sign up with LACBA and join the Appellate Courts Section.
