Hillel Chodos, RIP in __ Cal.App.4th __, fn.1

Sometime back in May there was "news" in the appellate world that famous SoCal appellate lawyer Hillel Chodos (Cal Bar #32090) had passed away. There were, however, no readily available press reports or obits to cite -- and this blawg naturally cites only authoritative sources, especially when it comes to something as serious as a death ("paging Mark Twain"!).
But now the veil of silence can be lifted. And what's the best way for an appellate lawyer's passing to be noted? In a published opinion, of course! So here it is today in Hillel Chodos v. Borman, footnote 1. But Hillel's practice was no footnote; he truly was a legendary legal force in Southern California, and he will be missed.
