Please join us as we celebrate the publication of this important new book chronicling the life and career of one of California's most distinguished jurists. Based on an extensive series of oral history interviews funded in substantial part by the Society, Chief: The Quest for Justice in California examines the long career of Chief Justice George, from his early experiences as a young lawyer arguing the constitutionality of the death penalty before the U.S. Supreme Court through his appointment to the high court to his authorship of the court's historic decision on same-sex marriage.
Chief Justice George has donated all royalties from sales to the University of California.
