Congrats to Harini Padmapriya Raghupathi!

The Recorder has released the names of its "Attorneys of the Year for 2012" -- and the only SoCal appellate representative appears to be.... Harini Raghupathi, an appellate lawyer at Federal Defenders of San Diego. The Recorder is honoring her for winning U.S. v. Carmen (9th Cir. 2012), which bans the government from deporting an alien witness who possesses exculpatory information before the defendant is appointed counsel. So congratulations are in order for this important victory and well-deserved honor.
