Justice Carlos Moreno will join Irell & Manella after he leaves the Supreme Court next Tuesday, reports Laura Ernde of the Daily Journal (here's the link -- subscription required). Irell has two offices in Southern California, where Justice Moreno lives. It is not yet known what kind of matters Justice Moreno will handle in private practice.
Notable members of Irell's appellate practice group include IP lawyer Morgan Chu and certified appellate specialist Gregory Smith, whom Governor Schwarzenneger once considered for the Court of Appeal. Irell's litigation practice group is chaired by Chu and includes OCBA President John Hueston.
