Horvitz & Levy partners David M. Axelrad and Mary-Christine Sungaila will be speaking tomorrow to the OCBA Corporate Counsel section on “Litigation Strategy and the Appellate Process.” 
They note “[k]nowledge of the appellate process is increasingly important to effective management of litigation and advancement of organizational and industry-wide policy interests.”
The presentation will include:
- An overview of the appellate and writ process
- Discussion on the pros and cons of appealing
- Description of the strategic considerations particular to appeals and amicus briefing as an advocacy tool
- Highlight key record preservation techniques
- The role of the appellate counsel.
NOTE: The OCBA says you MUST work in-house to attend, although you do not need to be an OCBA member.
