California Lawyer announced the winners of the CLAY Awards for the California Attorneys of the Year.
An Appellate Law award went to Tim Coates of Greines (left) for securing a unanimous US Supreme Court decision expanding prosecutorial immunity in Van de Kamp v. Goldstein.
An Appellate Law award also went to the team of Sharon Arkin (right), Thomas Haklar, Mark P. Robinson Jr., Kevin Calcagnie, Karen Karavatos, Robert Redfearn, and Kevin Decie for their California Supreme Court victory in In re Tobacco II Cases, which breathed life into UCL class actions whose named plaintiffs have Prop 64 standing.
