Another Appellate Lawyer Elevated

Greines Martin Stein & Richland LLP has announced that Cynthia Tobisman has been named partner. She joined the firm in 2001 after practicing as a litigator and transactional attorney for three years following her graduation from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1998.

Now a specialist in civil appeals, Tobisman has obtained significant results for her clients in a wide variety of matters ranging from civil rights, artist royalties, employment discrimination, products liability and personal injury to real property, immigration, breach of contract, bankruptcy and trade secrets misappropriation.

In her capacity as chair of the BHBA amicus briefs committee, and following a resolution by the Association to weigh in on the issue of same-sex marriage in 2008, Tobisman was asked to draft and file an amicus brief in the California Supreme Court supporting the parties challenging the legality of the laws banning same-sex marriage. Portions of her brief were used in the court’s initial ruling.

Tobisman graduated from UC Berkeley with high honors, and was named the top graduate of her class by the faculty of the Rhetoric Department.
