The Governor's latest batch of superior court judges (23) includes many with appellate experience:
- Jesse Basbaum (Alameda County) served as a Law Clerk at the Ninth Circuit from 2012 to 2013.
- Michele Beckwith (Yolo County) served as a Law Clerk at the Ninth Circuit from 2008 to 2010.
- Jasmine Turner-Bond (Placer County) worked as a panel attorney at the Appellate Defender's Inc. from 2013 to 2017.
- Matthew Lee (Sacramento County) served as a Law Clerk at the Ninth Circuit from 2013 to 2015.
- Thomas Sprankling (San Mateo County) served as a Law Clerk at the U.S. Supreme Court from 2016 to 2017 and at the Ninth Circuit from 2012 to 2013.
- Byron Beebe (Fresno County) was a Law Clerk at the Ninth Circuit from 2007 to 2008.
