Today's DJ features a profile of 2/3's
Patti Kitching, who "enjoys digging into the 'exciting' stories of cases in her appellate division" with infectious enthusiasm. Her advice to practitioners: "Be familiar with the record and the cases you cite. Be civil with opposing counsel .... We're not interested in righteous indignation or capital letters." Although she noted that oral argument is "a good thing," it doesn't change her mind very often. She also favors implementing a tentative opinion system. (Hooray!)
Finally, next year will mark the 20th year that all four 2/3 justices will have worked together -- quite a record.
