Bye-bye BlueJeans + more

Effective December 2023, the Court of Appeal, Fifth Appellate District will facilitate remote oral argument appearances via Zoom for Government due to Verizon BlueJeans being decommissioned.

 

The Sixth District Court of Appeal is saddened to report the loss of one of this court’s founding justices, Justice Harry F. Brauer. Justice Brauer passed away on May 5, 2023, at the age of 97. Please read the statement here.

• The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit is seeking applicants from among the federal appellate bar to serve as Appellate Lawyer Representatives to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference. Applications are due November 17, 2023. Click here for more information.

The following are currently sitting on assignment in the 3d District:

• Associate Justice Rebecca A. Wiseman, retired, will be sitting in pro tempore beginning July 15, 2023, through November 15, 2023.
• Judge Clare Keithley of the Butte County Superior Court will be sitting in pro tempore beginning September 5, 2023, through December 31, 2023.
